A month ago, still unsure about the extent of Covid-19 down here in Chile, we asked you to tell us a little bit about your experience regarding the lockdown and quarantine in your communities and how were you coping with it. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m using for the first-time tools like Zoom, Hangouts and HouseParty, not only to work but also to chat face-to-face with family and friends. My kids chatted for a long time (and for the first time) with their cousins in California, we all had a great time doing something that normally we wouldn’t have done in our old way of living, and it was very fulfilling.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve spent the last 2 months in Beijing, most of the time at home. My suggestions: protect yourselves (strictly follow the guidelines \u2013 avoid social gathering, wear mask, wash hands frequently), perform your jobs in the best way under the \u201cWFH\u201d order. Hope all my Chilean friends are safe and healthy, and hope Chile will stay beautiful as always!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear all, I\u2019ve joined a new industry: pharmaceutical. I\u2019m facing an extraordinary challenge assuring availability of medical products from all over the world to the Latin American region, urgently, with a shortage of raw material stock, containers and air freight.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is my contribution, assuring the supply of medicine for the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aspect #4: Adapting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As a family, we are adapting to new ways of doing things (school, cooking, remote work, etc) but we are confident things will get better.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe it is in moments like this when we have to be more generous and willing to learn than ever, so I spend my days mentoring entrepreneurs, learning new things, and enjoying my family.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aspect #5: Routine and\nexercise\u2028<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My life actually didn\u2019t change much, except cooking more and going to the bars less. I just avoid contacting with people and wearing masks. Doing more exercise is also what I do now!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aspect #6: Being\nthankful\u2028<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I am lucky to be at home with my family. Of course, it is not easy with three adorable girls but together with my wife we \u200b\u200bare adjusting our routines every day (housework, remote work, school and parenting), giving our best. In difficult times we remember all the people who have died and their families or who cannot be in their homes and that forces us to give thanks for our situation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aspect #7: Suggestions\nand taking advantage of this situation\u2028<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After three months staying at home, I have four points to share with all you scholars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Protecting yourself: The most important thing for us all is firmly establishing the awareness of Life Safety First\u2026We are not only protecting ourselves, that’s also for our families, our neighborhoods, our communities. <\/li>
  2. After we protect ourselves well, the problem we meet is how to spend the time meaningfully. For me, I have set a strict schedule for exercising, studying, reading and career scheming. Having stuck to that for three months, I find it’s a really great way to be the friend of time. How to start is easy. Just a white paper, a pen, and our desires. For this point, I’m wondering if there can be a platform for us scholars to share our book or movie recommendations.<\/li>
  3. A lot of “free” time for us will bring many creative ideas with it. I got a memo book to write down each of them and then spent time thinking of them, considering if some of them can become real and make some differences. So on the basis of the second point, maybe the platform can also let us share ideas, which may help some scholars find partners.<\/li>
  4. I believe there were countless times we hoped to spend more time with our family. Now we are. So maybe cooking, walking, discussing, all of those count, and will be a memorable time.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Let’s learn to change our mental patterns. Take advantage of contingencies as a way of rechecking our realties (by puncturing a balloon of illusions, dreams and big plans) and, thus, mobilize ourselves into action.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Aspect #9: Connection\nand reconnection\u2028<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Aspect #10: The world\nafter COVID-19\u2028<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    I was in Sao Paulo until a few weeks ago. Things started to deteriorate fast there and I decided to move to the countryside. My main doubt now is: how does this end? For our friends in China, it would be great to know how is life and business after the critical point of the outbreak and how people are seeing the possibility of a rebound of the disease?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/strong>At 10 a.m. on January 23, Wuhan went into lockdown. This was done to stop a deadly virus from spreading further across the nation. It was one day before Chinese New Year’s Eve, a major travel day for people planning to return home for the holidays. This documentary linked below is dedicated to all those who’ve been battling tirelessly against the COVID-19 virus in order to keep the epidemic at bay. Their efforts in safeguarding humanity from the virus will always be remembered.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    At the University of Notre Dame, it was a baptism by fire for those of us who are not used to teaching online.     Aspect #13: Missing\nfamily and friends<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
