Still deciding whether or not to apply? Here are 5 things we want you to know about the Fund to help you make your decision<\/strong>. You can also find summary video clips from the Q&A sessions marked by timestamps <\/em>below so you can jump to the parts that most interest you. Remember that applications close on April 11th, 2021<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT <\/strong>
THE LUKSIC SCHOLARS FUND<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. [Any Topic or Subject Allowed]<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For both Professional and Academic Support streams, you can apply for funding within any subject or topic<\/strong> as long as you explain how this will have an impact on your career. It does not have to be related to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. [Executive Education Course Choice]<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You can choose any<\/strong> short-term, online executive education course delivered by any institution<\/strong> from these lists<\/strong> (Global<\/a>, China<\/a>, Croatia<\/a>, Chile<\/a>). More information is available in Section 7 of the Fund Guidelines.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. [Research Funding Spend Restrictions]<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

There are no restrictions<\/strong> on how you use the funds awarded for research projects. We simply ask that you explain why each spend is important for the project within your application.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. [Important Timeframe Reminder]<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For both Professional and Academic Support, activities must be completed within 6 months<\/strong> of the funding being awarded (deadline: 31st October 2021). Information regarding specific allowances can be found in Sections 7 and 8 of the Fund Guidelines<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. [Downloadable Fund Guidelines]<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Fund Guidelines can only be downloaded from the Application Platform<\/a><\/strong> once you have begun your application. They cannot<\/em> be downloaded from the Luksic Scholars Portal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(08:18) The guidelines say, \u201cA criminal record certificate from the relevant authority in their country of residence.\u201d But I\u2019m afraid it will take forever to get this certificate in the country where I live. Any advice? <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(08:52) For online executive education courses that only require payment and don\u2019t require a specific application, how would an application to the Fund work?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(09:29) For the academic projects, the Scholar has to be the main investigator. Can this position be shared with a non-Scholar?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(10:20) What would be the main points to be considered in the selection between the different applications? Is there a topic of preference? <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(13:00) Given the Scholar\u2019s participation in a research project is outlined as having to be at least 22 hours in the Fund Guidelines, I am confused by the question regarding participation level in the application.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(14:28) Once awarded, the Fund goes directly to the Scholar or institution where the Scholar is working?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(15:38) Is there an expectation for when a research project has to be completed? <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(17:10) Do you give any preference to shorter or longer executive education courses (as long as they are completed within the deadline)? <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(17:37) If I am applying to another program run by the Luksic Scholars Foundation, am I still eligible to apply for the Fund?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(18:36) I am a civil servant and work for a government ministry, am I eligible to apply for the Fund?  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(19:19) Do you have to choose one of the Luksic Scholars Foundation\u2019s programs to apply for the \u201cProfessional Support: Executive Education\u201d stream?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
